Barbara Currently serves as an Assistant in the Mecklenburg County Manager’s office for projects and community initiatives. Previously served as Assistant Superintendent for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Pre-K-12 Support Services and as Program Chief for the Parent, Adolescent and Child Health Division of the Mecklenburg County Health Department. Began as a school and public health nurse.
Has received numerous recognitions for her work including Communities in Schools Dreammaker Award, the Council for Children’s Dolly Award, Mecklenburg County System of Care Lifetime Achievement Award, Davidson College Lifetime Education Service Award and the North Carolina Order of the Long Leaf Pine.
Enjoys and loves spending time with her five wonderful grandchildren!
